WELCOME TO PIOUS NETWORK

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the PIOUS website – a Networking portal linking Professionals of Indian Origin in US. 

During the last few years, Indo-US cooperation has taken a new dimension based on shared responsibilities for global good.   On October 17, 2005, Indian Science and Technology Minister, Shri Kapil Sibal, and US Secretary of State, Ms. Condoleezza Rice signed an umbrella S&T Agreement and later in March 2006, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Bush agreed to establish a bi-national S&T Commission and a knowledge initiative in agriculture.   In addition to these new arrangements, the cooperative programs under Indo-US S&T Forum and various Ministries with US agencies have been further augmented.  

In shaping this robust Indo-US Cooperation over the last five decades, the PIOs have played a major role. The achievement and contributions made by the scientists and technologists, doctors, managers and other professionals of Indian origin have been phenomenal and got international recognition.

One of the goals of the PIOUS portal is to catalyze and promote interface of Indian Diaspora in US amongst themselves and with academia, research institutions, government ministries, private enterprises and industry in India.

I invite you to join the PIOUS network and urge upon you to encourage all your friends and colleagues to register as PIOUS members and finally I solicit your cooperation in this unique mission and welcome your ideas for transforming India as world’s knowledge super power.
